Automakers need to realize basic facts. Chevy can call the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE a track destroyer, but we need to drive to the track, right? And with a 650-hp V8, in what world are we not going to tap on the gas a little harder than normal? Exactly.
Chevy is introducing a new package for the ZL1 Camaro, and it’s three seconds faster than the standard kit. In addition to the V8, the automaker is adding a host of track features including a new carbon fiber rear wing, air deflectors and dive planes to generate more downforce. The new Camaro package also gets the Multimatic DSSV suspension system, thinner rear glass, lighter forged aluminum wheels, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires.
Price is TBA and availability is late 2017. The car is trouble, but it’s damn good trouble.
