Hat tip to the folks over at JLwranglerforums.com for coming across what appears to be the owner’s manual and user’s guide for 2018 Jeep Wrangler set to debut in at the LA Auto Show in December.
While an owner’s manual never makes for an intriguing read, in this case, we do get insight into the upcoming specs. The standout feature is a power-sliding hardtop is coming. An easy button for enthusiasts who can’t be bothered with taking the roof panels off.
One feature noticeably absent in the manual is the option for a diesel engine. Horsepower figures are listed for the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the turbo four-cylinder. It’s been heavily rumored the Wrangler would see a diesel option, but the manual suggests that isn’t in the cards for the debut.
Inside the 2018 Wrangler will be an 8.4-inch screen containing all the usual apps plus a few dedicated to off-road enthusiasts. Keep track of wheel articulation, transmission temperature, transfer case status, pitch and roll at the touch of a button.
What you won’t find is a list of every option Jeep will have to offer when the curtain is finally lifted on the next Wrangler.
