The hype train is boarding for Assassin’s Creed Unity as November 11 approaches. After Destiny, I’m keeping expectations low. Destiny is a decent game, but I was expecting a lot more than what was ultimately delivered.
Back to Assassin’s Creed. AC Unity brings co-op to the Assassin’s Creed franchise for the first time. Ubisoft made a smart decision in dumping multiplayer in favor of co-op. You and up to three of your friends will take to the streets of Paris at the height of the French Revolution.
In the description for the trailer, Ubisoft teases “whether you’re tackling heists or assassinations, you’ll need planning teamwork and a combination of your whole teams complementary skills to succeed, but if you do you’ll be handsomely rewarded.”
Just make sure there’s no four player follow missions. Those are the bane of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Unity looks fantastic in the trailer above, and looks to take advantage of the Xbox One and PS4. Those of you with strong PCs will, of course, get the best graphics.
The biggest disappointment? No ships. Naval combat was awesome in Black Flag. Rogue will pick up the slack in that department if you still have your Xbox 360 or PS3. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rogue get a ‘Definitive Edition’ on Xbox One and PS4 next year at some point.
