Hollywood is in love with teasing their teaser trailers. Zack Snyder, director of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, tweeted out the announcement of the first official trailer of the DC tentpole.
The official trailer will premiere at select IMAX locations on Monday, April 20. Yeah, there are zero IMAX theaters around me, so I’m stuck waiting for it to appear on YouTube.
If you live in the 14 states screening the trailer, you can RSVP your ticket to get a glimpse of Superman and Batman. Snyder’s tweet included 21 seconds that showed off the costumes of the titular characters – Batman and Superman. The logos of each are superimposed, and that’s it.
One element that is incredible is the score. If the teaser sounds this great, the movie’s soundtrack will quickly make its way onto your Spotify playlist.

The official trailer will feature an introduction from Zack Snyder, and should set the hype meter to max for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
DC Universe Movies
A sequel to Man of Steel, the film will kick off the DC universe of standalone and Justice League movies. Hey, if Marvel can literally print cash, why can’t DC?
I’m not sure I’m sold on Ben Affleck as Batman, but we all recoiled when we heard Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker. When it was released, we all marveled at his portrayal. We have to give Affleck the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the man is an amazing director.
Henry Cavill will return as the Man of Steel, and new cast members include Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
The film hits theaters on March 25, 2016, proving major studios have figured out their big releases do not have to crowd to May and June to rack up box office receipts. You only have to look at the Hunger Games and Furious 7 to see the evidence.
What do you think? Team DC or Team Marvel? Personally, I’m comic movie agnostic. I just want to see the spectacles.
