The third of four Battlefield 1 expansions is coming in two chunks starting in December. Two new maps, a new Operation, new weapons, and new vehicles will land in December. Two more maps and a new faction will hit in January.
Also coming in December is a new Elite Class called the Infiltrator. Here’s how EA describes it:
Hide in plain sight and move faster across the battlefield with the new Infiltrator Elite Class. This strategic kit allows you to take advantage of a permanent sprint boost while calling in artillery strikes and deploying a mobile spawn for friendly troops.
Sounds awesome. Also, sounds like a headache to balance. What we don’t know yet is how DICE plans to make sure the class isn’t too overpowered. I guess we see something like the Team Fortress 2 Spy class. Any attack ditches the disguise.
Still, you won’t need to be disguised long to make a huge impact. Deploying a spawn point behind enemy lines could swing a match instantly. Toss in an artillery strike to help secure it, and your team has a good chance capturing a well-defended point.
Balance will always be important. All the other Elite Classes focused on offense. The Infiltrator is more support oriented. Granted, these classes are single-use pick-ups, but they can still have a huge impact on a match.
Test two maps on CTE
The two December maps, Cape Helles and Achi Baba, are coming to CTE tomorrow. But don’t think of this as a demo. The two maps will be white-boxed. That means textures will not be there. The folks at DICE want your input on the layout of the map.
CTE- Update- Console CTE builds available for pre-load tomorrow 19:00 STHLM time. PC build is already available. Also I need 280 char 😛
