When Bethesda announced Fallout 4 at E3, the first character we saw wasn’t a person. Nope. It was Dogmeat.
Yesterday, Bethesda gave us a behind-the-scenes look at everyone’s favorite canine sidekick.
Dogmeat’s real-life name is River, and she’s the German Shepherd of Fallout 4’s lead designer Joel Burgess. Check out the short clip above to see the painstaking work done to capture her panting and barking. It’s a fun little video to watch in between Fallout 4’s feature videos.
Other games have also jumped onboard with canine sidekicks. Who can forget the great GIF that came from Call of Duty: Ghosts behind-the-scenes trailer?
Rockstar Games gave us Chop in Grand Theft Auto 5.
Game Director Todd Howard talked a bit more about Dogmeat and the other companions in the video below. And don’t worry, Dogmeat can’t die.
Open-world fans will get lost in another huge game on November 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Man, Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider on the same day? You might not see me for a few days.
