2K’s avid support for mobile gaming continues as they announce BioShock for iOS. The publisher has brought over several major franchises to iOS including XCOM, Borderlands and Civilization.

2K games promised the iOS release of the original BioShock will deliver “the complete experience of the original.”

BioShock for iOS will feature the typical touch controls seen in premium iOS games and will also include controller support. Definitely try to get a mobile controller if you’re interested in trying BioShock. I’ve yet to play an action game with touch controls that are even half way decent.

Graphics took a slight hit on the iOS version, but that’s understandable. It’s pretty crazy we’re playing last gen games on our phones.

You’ll need one of the following Apple devices to play BioShock. An iPad 4, iPad Mini 2, iPad Air, iPhone 5, 5s or 5c.

No details on a specific release date or price. 2K did say BioShock would sell as a “premium priced mobile game.” Think $10-$20. As for release date, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it later this month. Announcements and releases of mobile games tend to happen quick.

What do you think of today’s announcement? Let us know which game you would love to see make the mobile transition.
