Look out Destiny, there’s a new game coming in September. Ok, so Destiny doesn’t really have anything to worry about, but fans of board games will be happy to see the trailer below. Ubisoft is bringing some of Hasbro’s best board games to consoles next month. Check out the announcement trailer below.
The first three board games coming to Hasbro’s Game Channel are Monopoly, Risk and Trivial Pursuit.
Monopoly Plus brings one of the most iconic board games into the 3D video game world. Customize everything from the rules to how the board looks as you and five friends play online or offline.
Risk is the one I’m pumped for. The 2010 rules will be the standard here according to the press release. Each battle plays out on a 3D tactical battlefield. Players can see who is the best strategic mind as they fight in online leagues.
Trivial Pursuit Live! will test your knowledge over a slew of topics. Man, seeing this makes me wish 1 vs 100 would come back to Xbox. I loved that game.
“We’re bringing Hasbro’s classic games to the digital age, capturing all the excitement and fun of these timeless games and building new ways to play them with the Hasbro Game Channel,” said Chris Early, vice president of digital publishing, Ubisoft.
“The new console experiences will offer a brand new channel with both familiar and new gameplay modes, various missions, achievements and rewards for endless fun with friends and family.”
The success of Hasbro Game Channel will come down to price. Give me each game for five bucks and I’m in. $10 max. Anything more than that, and they’ll be pushing it.
Please do this right Ubisoft. I would love for more games to be added such as Clue and Axis & Allies.
As for platforms, Hasbro Game Channel is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. Well, this pretty much confirms third-party support is dead on Wii U. This would be the perfect game for Nintendo’s traditionally family-oriented user base.
