More time means more feedback from you for The Crew. Ubisoft announced the delay in a statement earlier today.
“The extra time will allow for a second closed console beta to be held, giving even more players the opportunity to experience the game, which is something the community has been requesting. Like the betas held previously, valuable player feedback and other essential information will be gathered, further enhancing the experience.”
Instead of November 11, The Crew will now race to stores on December 2.
“Our philosophy remains to deliver the best game possible. We’re all committed to delivering a revolutionary experience in the driving genre and we can’t wait for The Crew to be in the hands of the players.” says Julian Gerighty, Creative Director.
The positives for the delay are two-fold. It gives the team some time to improve their title and gauge user feedback. Plus, it gets them away from the November gauntlet of AAA titles. The Crew was destined to be buried beneath GTA V, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Halo and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The new release date gives Ubisoft a bit of room from these major titles.
