Skipped Forza Horizon 2 last fall? A free standalone expansion is coming on March 27 according to an AP report. Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will be free until April 10. After that, it will cost $10.
The expansion will take place before the movie and will have you “sourcing vehicles for mechanic Tej Parker (portrayed by Chris “Ludacris” Bridges in the films and game).”
You’ll be taking iconic cars from the Fast & Furious movies for a spin including the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Other rides include a 1998 Toyota Supra, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, 2012 Nissan GT-R, 1970 Plymouth Cuda, 2013 Jeep Wrangler, 2014 Maserati Ghibli S and 2015 Dodge Charger. Check out the short teaser below.
Bill Kispert, executive VP of digital licensing at Universal told the AP they’ve been talking to Turn 10 (developer of Forza) for years and “have always wanted to work together.”
Alan Hartman, studio head at Turn 10, told the AP, “We weren’t interested in doing yet another movie-based game.” Hartman talks about how he wants to bring the strengths of both franchises together.
He calls the partnership a “grand experiment” and hopes what Turn 10 is doing “is a model for what we do in the future.”
I think it’s a great move by Turn 10 and Universal. Forza Horizon 2 is a great game. Not only does this tie-in help boost marketing for Furious 7; a lot of people will get to try a fantastic racing game.
Now, where’s my Splinter Cell: Blacklist (John Wick Edition)?
What do you think of the partnership between Forza Horizon 2 and Furious 7? What game and movie would you like to see team up?
