Last night’s Bethesda conference was all about Doom 4 and Fallout 4. But, we did get a surprise (not) announcement of Dishonored 2. We all knew it was coming. We definitely knew on Sunday when Bethesda accidentally leaked the game during a test run of their conference that briefly appeared on Twitch.
The big news from the announcement is that you can play as Emily Kaldwin, the Princess orphaned in the intro of the first Dishonored.
Kaldwin is a grown woman now and has the Mark of the Outsider. Arkane Studio says Kaldwin will have her own set of unique powers, weapons and gadgets. Some of which are teased in the trailer above.
Corvo Attano, the protagonist from the first Dishonored, also returns and is a playable character.
Arkane Studios offers a few more details about the game’s story in a press release.
Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after the Lord Regent has been vanquished and the dreaded Rat Plague has passed into history. An otherworldly usurper has seized the throne from Empress Emily Kaldwin, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca – a once-dazzling coastal city that holds the key to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the mark of the Outsider and powerful new supernatural abilities, hunt down your enemies and forever alter the fate of the Empire.
According to the trailer description, Dishonored 2 is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in Spring 2016.
I’m digging all the player choice Bethesda showed us last night. Multiple playable characters in Dishonored 2, a crazy map editor in Doom 4 and the insane customization of Fallout 4? I hope this is just the beginning of what we are going to see from developers this E3.
