DJI is feeling the impacts of the US-China trade war in the form of nearly every camera drone offered by the company is now out-of-stock. It’s not just older models either. The Mavic 2 Pro is entirely out of stock along with most Mavic 2 Zoom variants out-of-stock. The exception being the Mavic 2 Zoom standalone.
Both join the Phantom 4 series which saw a bit of life yesterday as the Phantom 4 Advanced went on sale for around an hour.
Other models struggling to find inventory include the DJI Spark, which has zero models available. The Mavic Air is only available in its Fly More Combos. The original Mavic Pro has the most models available including the Platinum edition and its Fly More Combo.
For the professional drone user, the stock Inspire 2 is in stock, but Inspire 2 Premium and Professional are nowhere to be found. Below is a table listing all the camera drones offered by DJI:

What is going on with DJI? While DJI has been rushing out new product launches, there comes a time to announce something to assuage the fears of drone fans. While we have leaks of a Mavic Mini, there needs to be a reliable product roadmap presented and an explanation of why drones are inexplicably slipping out of stock.
The most straightforward answer is the tariffs imposed by the United States against China. Out trade war is single-handedly wrecking the global economy and preventing the company from pushing out new product lines. Then there’s the plan from DJI to hold off on flagship drones until 2020. That shouldn’t impact supply, and the rumor is the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 was supposed to emerge from limbo as camera drone to be sold next month.
Alternatives to DJI’s Store.
There are ways around the dried-up supply. Both Amazon and B&H offer all the camera drones in stock. Below is a table of where to find your favorite drone in stock today:
