Horror games have proved a popular genre in recent months. Bethesda hopes to capitalize on the recent popularity with The Evil Within. The latest trailer introduces us to Detective Sebastian Castellanos as he makes his way through Beacon Mental Hospital. It’s always a mental hospital.
The developers behind The Evil Within know a thing or two about horror games. Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks are working on the title.
After entering Beacon Mental Hospital, you collapse and soon wake up in a seemingly different world. Castellanos sums it up best, “something is wrong with this place.” Yes there is.
The trailer below gives us glimpses of several of the game’s scary inhabitants. A lady with a mirror face, axe-wielding monsters and rivers of blood await you in The Evil Within.
The Evil Within is slated to release August 26 in North America and three days later in Europe. At least we’ll have something to play before the deluge of games hit for the holiday season.
