According to Eurogamer, Far Cry 4 will take place in the Himalayas and feature rideable elephants. Citing an anonymous source, Eurogamer reports Ubisoft will unveil the latest Far Cry title at E3 this June.
So, when can you expect to play it? The report says Ubisoft is aiming for a release during its next fiscal year. That would put it sometime before March 2015.
This isn’t the first time a Himalayas setting has been hinted at. Twitter user, Superannuation, tweeted about the move to the Himalayas back in February.
Far Cry 4 sounds super boring from the rumors. It’s the third game more or less transposed to the Himalayas or adjacent locale + monsters(?)

Eurogamer reports Far Cry 4’s gameplay will be similar to Far Cry 3. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Far Cry 3 launched to in late 2012 and was a critical and retail hit. Ubisoft will be hoping Far Cry 3’s success will translate as Far Cry 4 heads to the mountains.
Ubisoft is going to have a busy E3. We know Far Cry 4 will be there now, along with The Division. It wouldn’t be E3 without an Assassin’s Creed game. I’m hoping Ubisoft re-unveils a new Rainbow Six title. Console shooters have exploded in popularity in recent years and Ubisoft hasn’t been able to capitalize on it with a new Rainbow Six title.
