We all got our first taste of current-gen footage of GTA V yesterday and it looks great. The biggest game changer? First person mode. Check out three minutes of GTA V like you’ve never seen it before in the video below.

Here’s a few more details about the first person mode in GTA V. A single button press will switch you from third person to first person. Rockstar has put in a lot of work in the first person mode with thousands of new animations, a first-person cover system and a new targeting system. First person mode will be available for the entire game including GTA Online.

Resolution and Frame Rate

Xbox One and PS4 versions will run at 1080p/30fps. PC users can test their new rigs out as GTA V will support 4K resolution. As seen in the video above, graphics have seen a big bump compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

PS4 Controller Functionality

Rockstar Games showed some love to the DualShock 4. Phone calls and police radio sounds play through the DualShock 4 speaker. Up and down swipes on the touch-pad change weapons, while left and right swipes change radio stations.

Oh, and if DualShock 4 light bar hasn’t annoyed you enough yet. It will flash red and blue when you have a wanted level.

Where the Hell Are Heists?

The biggest news remains the silence on heists. At this point, I’m starting to wonder if we’ll ever see them. GTA Online heists were advertised before the game was even released on Xbox 360 and PS3. A year later and still not a peep from Rockstar.

Besides being annoyed about the lack of heists news, I can’t wait to head back to Los Santos.
