2014 won’t be without a Forza game. IGN has the details on Forza Horizon 2 coming this fall. The follow-up to the first open world racing game is being developed by Playground Games along with help from Forza Motorsport developer, Turn 10 Studios.
Forza Horizon 2 will take you across parts of southern Europe and will feature hundreds of cars. Turn 10 Studios is letting Playground Games bring over the Drivatar system from Forza Motorsport 5.
Didn’t play Forza Motorsports 5? The Drivatar system learns how you and your friends drive and creates AI versions of drivers. Your solo experience will have the feel of a multiplayer race without the multiplayer.
One brand new feature to the Forza franchise is a weather system.
IGN says they have a lot more info on the game which they will be posting throughout the month. Microsoft will also be pushing the game big time at E3.
With the game being cross-gen, many people wonder who will handle developing responsibilities on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Playground Games is handling the Xbox One version. According to IGN, Sumo Digital will be helming the Xbox 360 version.
Who is Sumo Digital? They worked on Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed which released in 2012. They also worked on the Vita and 3DS versions of F1 2011. This feels similar to how Titanfall was handled. The Xbox 360 version of that turned out pretty good. I can see the same happening for Forza Horizon 2.
