The folks over at Playground Games have shown off plenty of what Forza Horizon 4 has to offer. More than four hours of streams have given us deep dives into everything from dynamic seasons to individual races and events. A new trailer dropped a few days ago recapping the biggest features revealed during these livestreams. Let’s check it out.
Damn, this game looks unreal. Forza Horizon 3 was already a jaw-dropper, and Playground Games is making Forza Horizon 4 look even better.
I love the glimpse of the showcase event mode with the hovercraft. Showcase events were already a thing, but it was usually limited to planes above you or boats near you. They were cool, but it never felt like I was racing against them. Here, it looks like the hovercraft is on the same course as you. Yep, I will be trying to hit that big sucker with a PIT maneuver.
That’s right; it looks like Master Chief and his Warthog are getting their own race.
The trailer also touches on Forza Horizon 4’s new open-world mechanics, and they sound fantastic. Now, you’ll be able to jump into a server with up to 72 other people. Sure, you can still go up against drivatars in races – but now the open world should feel a little more like a ‘living’ world. Not just drivatars cruising around with your friend’s name above them.
The whole trailer condenses more than four hours worth of livestreams into just under three minutes. It’s a solid overview of all the significant changes coming to Forza Horizon 4.
Forza Horizon 4 is coming on October 2. For all you Horizon diehards out there, the Ultimate Edition gives you four days early access starting on September 28. I’m not going to lie, the more I see, the more I’m tempted to grab that Ultimate Edition.
What feature is selling you the most on Forza Horizon 4? I know it’s the headline feature, but the changing seasons look and sound incredible.
