Guerrilla Games, the team behind the Killzone franchise, is busy working on a new, unannounced IP. A video from Playstation Japan dropped the news recently.

Development of this new IP is well underway with more than two years of work already put in.

“We are working on a new IP, and we started on that already two and a half years ago, but unfortunately we cannot share details yet of the new IP, so you’ll have to be a bit more patient on that,” Executive Producer Angie Smets says near the end of the video.

This new IP was described as “something completely different to Killzone” by lead designer Eric Boltjes.

When will you get to see it? There’s only a few months left until E3. My money is on a big reveal during Sony’s press conference. We could also see something at GDC, but I think Guerrilla Games’ new IP would warrant a massive reveal. Something only E3 can offer.

Give us your thoughts on what you would like to see from Guerrilla Games. It appears they are ditching the FPS genre, or at least going a completely different direction with it according to Boltjes. I would love to see Guerilla Games take their tech and create a more open-world title.
