Want a place in the Guinness World Record book? Time yourself texting the following message.
“The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.”
Did you text it in 18.19 seconds? That’s how fast Marcel Fernandes Filho of Brazil did and set a new record for fastest texter. The previous record holder did it in 18.44 seconds.
Marcel had to get the spelling, capitalization and punctuation right for it to count. As you can see from the video below, Flesky sponsored the event. Flesky is the name of the touchscreen keyboard used by Marcel to beat the world record.
Don’t think Marcel spends every waking moment with his phone, though. “I don’t know if you guys would be interested in knowing this, but I’m currently studying physics in UFSC (a college south of Brazil),” he said in a statement.
What better way for Flesky to get a ton of free advertising than to set up a Guinness World Record event that everyone will cover. Well played Flesky. Well played.
