There’s nothing quite like a monk chant to get you in the mood for some Halo.
Halo 5: Guardians doesn’t disappoint. YouTube channel HALO Memes uploaded the new main menu music after the Halo 5 beta received an update over the weekend.
There appeared to be a short closed beta over the weekend according to NeoGAF.
It’s clear Halo 5: Guardians’ composer, Kazuma Jinnouchi, wants to capture the epic feeling of the original Halo theme and combine it with his own touch.
Audio Director Sotaro Tojima and Jinnouchi admitted they moved away from the traditional themes in Halo 4 to create a new experience. “We also kind of missed those old themes from the past,” Jinnouchi recently told GameInformer.
As soon as you start listening to the music above, you’re instantly transported into Master Chief’s boots. Every Halo fan knows this and the audio team at 343 Industries is embracing it.
That doesn’t mean Jinnouchi can’t add his touch. He talks about how Spartan Locke gave him an opportunity to try something new. “I thought that was the perfect place to introduce a new theme.”
“You do hear a lot more synthesizer sounds. That’s the foundation for Locke’s musical motifs,” Jinnouchi adds.
Halo 5: Guardians is looking like a fantastic sophomore effort from 343 Industries. Some may still be apprehensive after Halo: MCC, but the Halo 5: Guardians beta was fantastic. Everything I see and hear about Halo 5: Guardians just gets me more pumped to play the game.
I love the new soundtrack. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
