Sunday Update: CLG and Denial are about to play in Losers Bracket Finals. Winner of this match plays EG in the Finals.

Eight of the best competitive Halo teams faced off yesterday as the HCS Season 2 finals kicked off. Today, six teams remain.

Evil Geniuses, CLG, Winterfox, Denial, Cloud 9 Halo and Optic Gaming will battle it out for their share of $150,000.

The action will get underway at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT with Evil Geniuses facing off against CLG. Check out the stream below. (here’s the link)

Evil Geniuses won it all in Season 1. Can they repeat? The casters (announcers) are predicting another championship for Evil Geniuses.

Halo Season 2 finals bracket

Three more teams will be exiting the competition today. We’ll see action in the semis and losers bracket today. Tomorrow at 11 a.m. PT, the last two matches will be played to crown the HCS Season 2 Finals champs.

Halo’s competitive future

We are just a few months away from the release of Halo 5: Guardians. And this weekend’s competition will be the last for Halo 2 Anniversary.

But competitive Halo fans will still get their fill starting on August 7 at Gamescom. Four teams – Epsilon Esports, Supremacy, CAZ.Esports and Optic Gaming will compete at the ESL Gamescom Invitational. There, we’ll get our first glimpse of Halo 5: Guardians being played at a competitive level.
