Blizzard’s card game, Hearthstone, is making its way to iPad. Starting today, Hearthstone is available for iPad in Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Other regions will be joining shortly.
What is Hearthstone? Hearthstone sees you battling opponents with characters from the World of Warcraft universe via a deck of cards.
Bringing Hearthstone to iPad is a no brainer. The game’s interface is a perfect fit for tablets. Now, you’ll use your finger to drag a card to the table. Tap different scenery around to activate different effects.
Blizzard decided for a small scale release in order to test its infrastructure before expanding to a global release. Blizzard promises the wait won’t be long for other regions.
“If you don’t live in Australia, Canada, or New Zealand, you don’t have much longer to wait to get your hands on Hearthstone for iPad — Murloc Scout’s honor,” said Blizzard.
The Hearthstone app will sync account data across your tablet and PC. Your card collection and quest progress on iPad will transition over to PC and vice versa.
Blizzard isn’t stopping with iPad. They plan to release Hearthstone on Android, iPhone and Windows mobile later this year. You’ll need an iPad 2 or newer to run Hearthstone, although reports say the game is a bit sluggish on older iPads.
