Well, Neil Blomkamp is at it again. He insists on taking my money for one of his films. The director of District 9 and Elysium is back with another sci-fi film. Chappie revolves around the beginning of artificial intelligence. I’m talking legitimate cyborgs, not the roomba you film your cat riding on.
Those who love Blomkamp films knows he likes to cast Sharlto Copley. He plays a major role in the film, voicing the robot Chappie. Dev Patel, along with Die Antwoord members Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er bring Chappie into his own. They suggest that he can paint, write poetry and have original ideas. Damn right, Chappie is gonna invent the next Facebook.
Oh, and it(he) likes to watch cartoons. The villain of the film is played by Hugh Jackman, who warn against the rise of artificial intelligence. Nah Hugh, it’s mutants that are a threat.
The film hits March 6, 2015, so it should be away from any Hollywood tentpoles. It’s a good spot for a sci-fi film. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
