Fans of bestselling author Lisa Scottoline are in for a treat on November 25. That’s the release date of Betrayed, in both hardcover and audiobook format. Published by publishing powerhouse MacMillan Audio, the book’s narration will come from Maria Bello.
If you watch TV and hit the theaters, the name should be instantly recognized. Bello is an award-winning actress known for her roles in Coyote Ugly, Prisoners and A History of Violence. This is her first foray into narrating a novel. She couldn’t pick a better author to launch a career in narration.
Lisa Scottoline has 21 novels written, and over 25 million copies in print. She released a statement, praising Maria Bello and how happy she is to have her doing the narration.
“Maria Bello is one of the best actresses in Hollywood today,” Scottoline exclaimed, “she has a genius for portraying smart and strong, yet vulnerable, heroines like the ones I write. She sounds incredibly wonderful in the audiobook of Betrayed, and she understands these characters as women, professionals, and even mothers and daughters. I couldn’t be more honored to have her record the audiobook of this novel, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how great it turned out!”
As for Betrayed, the press release explains the plot of the upcoming novel.
Betrayed stars Judy Carrier, one of the attorneys at Scottoline’s famous all-women Philadelphia law firm Rosato & Associates. Carrier agrees to help her aunt, recently diagnosed with breast cancer, look into the supposedly natural death of her dear friend Iris, an undocumented worker at a local farm. As the investigation ensues, Carrier is lead into an underground world that is far more dangerous than she ever imagined. Judy has to dig to uncover what really happened to Iris, and at the same time unearth secrets in her very own family.
With Scottoline’s pedigree as an author, and Bello’s recognizable voice, the audio format is sure to be a success.
If you prefer holding and actual book or prefer to fill up your tablet, all formats will be available on November 25. You can pick it up at the usual suspects of book stores, Amazon, and audiobook sites such as Audible.
