‘HaloFest: A Celebration Fit for a Spartan’ is how Microsoft describes the celebration of all things Halo starting on November 8 and lasting through November 11.

First up, Microsoft released a new trailer for Halo: Nightfall today. It looks fantastic. Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Halo: Nightfall will make its world premiere during HaloFest. Microsoft and 343 Industries will be taking over the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles on November 10 to show us the first episode of Halo: Nightfall. In it, we will be introduced to Agent Locke – described as an important character in Halo 5: Guardians.

Speaking of Halo 5: Guardians, we’ll be getting our first look at that as well. An exhibition match between pro Halo players will offer the first glimpse of Halo 5: Guardians gameplay.

Several 343 Industries’ execs be on hand talking everything Halo; looking back at the past, talking about the present and a look into the future. We will hear from 343 Industries Head Bonnie Ross, Franchise Development Director Frank O’Connor, Executive Producer Dan Ayoub, Executive Producer Josh Holmes and Executive Producer Kiki Wolfkill.

On November 8-9, ESL will host a Halo: The Master Chief Collection Launch Invitational. 32 teams will go head-to-head in Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer for their chance at $50,000 in prices. Twitch.tv/Halo will have all the action.

All of HaloFest’s festivities can be watched live on Xbox Live, Xbox.com and Twitch in the lead up to the launch of Halo: MCC.
