It’s a good time to be a gamer who loves the Warhammer franchise. Sega and Creative Assembly are tackling the Warhammer franchise with Total War. Now, NeocoreGames reveals Warhammer 40,000: Inquisition – Martyr.
They describe the game as a “persistent sandbox action-RPG.”
In a statement (via IGN) producer Zoltán Pozsonyi assured hardcore fans they were the right team to work on Warhammer. “There’s a reason why we chose the world of Warhammer 40,000: it’s intense, brutal, visceral—a perfect material for an action RPG,” he explained. “We’re huge fans as well, so we care deeply about this game.”
NeocoreGames also released a teaser trailer. There’s not much there, but you can watch it below.
Who are NeocoreGames?
Neocore was founded in 2005 and are headquartered in Budapest, Hungary.
Lately, the developer has worked on The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing series. They are action RPG games with an isometric point of view. Think Diablo and you’re on the right track. Check out some gameplay of their most recent release below.
Will Martyr incorporate similar gameplay? NeocoreGames describes it as a “persistent sandbox.” That makes me think it will be first or third person.
Still, a Warhammer game in the same vein as Diablo? I could get onboard with that.
NeocoreGames didn’t offer any more details besides a 2016 release date. We’ll keep you posted with any more news or gameplay as it drops.
