The age of virtual reality is coming. And, it’s going to be awesome. Destination British Columbia is jumping aboard the VR train to give you a virtual look at the breathtaking views British Columbia has to offer.

“This video gives people the opportunity to really get a sense of what it’s like to be in B.C.,” says Maya Lange, VP of Global Marketing at Destination BC, in the video below. “And what it’s like to feel the powerful nature around you, and the wildlife and the wilderness that we have to offer the world here, in British Columbia.”

The days of travel brochures are quickly coming to an end. Soon, travel agents will give you small tastes of the top vacation spots with Oculus Rift.

‘The Wild Within’ takes you to the Great Bear Rainforest. Head down the coast to see sea lions or hike through the forest.

Destination British Columbia shows just another fantastic use for the Oculus Rift headset. What once started as a gaming centric device is quickly spreading into other areas. The uses of Oculus Rift are limitless.

So, when can we all head to the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia? Travel journalists will get their hands on it first. ‘The Wild Within’ experience will then head to various events around the world in 2015 for regular consumers to try. Once the Oculus Rift consumer version hits store shelves, ‘The Wild Within’ will be available for download.

Cross your fingers for a consumer release of Oculus Rift in 2015.
