Watch Dogs is the latest big name release to have some problems during its launch week. PC users in particular have had it rough over the past few days. Many users have experienced several substantial bugs and graphical issues including stuttering and lag.

Watch Dogs graphics technical director Sebastien Viard took to Twitter to discuss the problem and offer a potential fix.

“Watch Dogs can use 3+ GB of RAM on NG consoles for graphics, your PC GPU needs enough VRAM for ultra options due to the lack of unified memory,” Viard tweeted.

The fix? Lower your settings. Ground breaking, I know.

“If you experience lag/stutter on a fast PC, try to lower one of those settings to reduce the GPU VRAM usage: texture quality, AA, resolution,” wrote Viard in another tweet.

Viard went on to say how difficult making an open world game on old-gen, current gen and PC is. He also congratulated his team on a “fantastic job.”

Viard also said a patch is in the works for the PC version of Watch Dogs. He cited “your reports” and said the patch will “improve your experience.”
