It’s safe to say Budweiser’s advertising department does not borrow heavily from Carl’s Jr. Instead of an overtly ‘sex sells’ campaign, Budweiser keeps it family friendly. In a sequel to last year’s spot, the Clydesdales are rescuing a lost puppy.
“The Budweiser Clydesdales help the puppy learn the true meaning of friendship by reminding us that #BestBuds always have your back,” the brand said in a statement.
The puppy is confronted by a wolf, and the horses gallop in to save the day. Cue the nationwide awws and you have your happy ending. Budweiser has the cute animal commercials on lock. This year, GoDaddy tried to spoof the spot with a rather cruel ending. After an outcry from animal supporters, the domain registrar had to pull the ad.
What do you think – family friendly commercials, or the ‘sex sells’ of Carl’s Jr? We all know what is talked about the most, so it’s not a surprise that Carl’s Jr. continues to push their version of advertising.
