At this point, GoPro should release the press text. Everything is leaking ahead of the company’s October 1 event. Today we have the Polish price leaking for the GoPro Hero 8 Black which is set for 1899,00 PLN. Before you read that wrong, it’s the same as 1,899.00 PLN or around $482 USD.
Expensive? Oh yeah. If GoPro is aiming to compete with the DJI Osmo Action, a price tag close to $500 for the Hero Black 8 won’t cut it. Unless it has some serious features that haven’t leaked yet. Consumers will see a $350 Osmo action and a $500 GoPro, and it’s not a giant leap on which will outsell the other regardless of features.
If you’re expecting a caveat, you’re getting one. Don’t read into international prices as the same you’d find in a store in the United States.
It’s pure speculation, but Amazon gives us a clue. The Hero 7 Black is cut from an MSRP of $399.99. That’s more in line with an action camera that has to battle it out with DJI. And it fits with the traditional cost increases customers across the Atlantic have to endure when American technology releases.
GoPro Fusion Price Cut. The Hero 8 Black isn’t the only GoPro making news today. With the GoPro Max set to replace the GoPro Fusion, it is enjoying a $200 price cut over at B&H. Amazon is close to price matching, but stock is dwindling as GoPro’s event approaches. Remember to keep it locked here on October 1 for full coverage.
