Yes, this is happening. Yes, I want all of them. The toys/games mashup I’ll buy is finally here. Rocket League toys. The folks at Psyonix are teaming up with Zag Toys for a Rocket League line of Original Minis Pull-Back Racers.
12 Battle-Cars will hit stores this Spring, each packed in a miniature Rocket Ball. Octane, Dominus, Masamune, Hotshot, Grog, X-Devil, Merc and Backfire make up eight of the first dozen Racers. Four limited variants fill up the last spots.
No Breakout? I guess it’s Octane for me.
Here’s a short GIF showing a Dominus hitting the little Rocket Ball.
That’s about the weakest hit you’ll ever see from a Dominus.
Look for more pics of the toy cars at the North American International Toy Fair starting February 18th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
26 million reasons to make toys
26 million players and counting. What an incredible success for a small developer that always believed in a game about cars smashing into a giant soccer ball. Turns out, having a simpler name helps. Of all the incredible games I’ve played in the past two years, Rocket League is the one I keep coming back to.
Usually, 300+ hours are only reserved for my favorite shooters or World of Warcraft. Not anymore. Rocket League stands alone as my favorite game in recent years. Hell, maybe ever. Here’s to 300 more hours. Maybe I’ll finally hit those elusive purple ranks.
