Were you left wondering what the ‘mystery box’ prizes contained? The SkyPixel 2016 Photo Contest now includes DJI Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2 in the prize pool. The grand prize is now worth $5,500 and includes an Inspire 2, Mavic Pro, Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses, Epson SureColor P400 Wide Format Photo Printer and an Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan (1-year membership).

I think the winner will be set to amaze us in 2017 with that prize pack. Judges for the contest have been selected from the acclaimed photography site, Fstoppers, Time and Conde Nast. The prizes give it away, but the 2016 contest is sponsored by DJI, Epson, Adobe, Insta360 and Ctrip.

Fair warning, the second you click over to SkyPixel, any chance of productivity is gone. The images from professionals and hobbyists alike are stunning. For 2016, the contest is split into ‘professional’ and ‘enthusiast’ camps with categories of beauty, 360-degree panoramas and drones in use.

Don’t worry about being late to the party. The submission cut off date is December 30, with the winners announced on January 20, 2017. Learn more over at SkyPixel.
