Tired of your regular cable subscription? Then Sling TV might be for you. Microsoft’s Xbox One is the first gaming system to get support for Sling TV via the Sling TV app.
There’s a lot to like about Sling TV at first glance. No contract. no extra hardware. $20/month. But, what can you watch?
The big channels include ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, Food Network, TNT, TBS and CNN. You can see the rest in the image below from Sling TV’s official website.
Want more sports? Sling offers a Sports Extra package that includes ESPN U, ESPN’s SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPN Goal Line and more.
Have kids? The Kids Extra package includes Disney Junior, Disney XD and a handful of of other kid focused channels.
Hollywood Extra brings Epix, Epix 2, Epix 3, Epix Drive-In and Sundance TV to your Sling TV app.
Want to keep up on world events? A World News Extra package has you covered. HLN, Bloomberg and a few international news channels are included.
And finally, a Lifestyle Extra package with the DIY network, truTV, WE tv and the Cooking Channel.
Each of the packages adds $5/month to the base $20/month.
That’s not too bad. Combine that with Hulu for network shows and HBO for Game of Thrones and most people are covered.
You can try out Sling TV on your Xbox One for free for a month. Check out the video below to see how it looks on Xbox One.
