Streaming games has always seemed like a good idea. But, there was always something holding it back. Whether it was on the technical side (lag), or in Sony’s case with Playstation Now (price).
Playstation Now’s old model revolved around several pricing tiers. $3-$5 for four hours, $5-$8 for a week and so on. And, that was for individual games.
Today, Sony revealed a subscription model. For $19.99/month or $44.99/3 months, you’ll get access to more than 100 PS3 games. Not bad. Playstation Now’s subscription model will release on January 13th.
Granted some of these games are dirt cheap. But, if you’re interested in playing some of PS3’s biggest hits – this service could be handy for a few months. A 7-day trial is available for new subscribers.
Sony released a short video highlighting some of the bigger titles coming as part of the subscription model.
The Last of Us, Bioshock: Infinite, God of War: Ascension and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune are just some of the games you can play. Oh, and also the best Playstation 3 multiplayer game ever – Warhawk. Hell, I might get the service just to play that again.

We can count on “strong and growing support from our publishing partners,” according to Sony.
I think it’s a solid price for the service. Some PS4 owners are new to the Playstation brand. If you are new, check out Warhawk. You won’t be disappointed.
Just make sure you have the internet speeds to support it. Sony recommends at least 5 mbps of bandwidth and a wired connection to minimize packet loss.
What do you think of the subscription model? Also, what games would you like to see added in the future?
