Movie news is hitting fast today. The title for Guardians sequel was unveiled, and now we have the title for the third Star Trek.

Trekkies can get ready for Star Trek Beyond. Justin Lin is behind the camera for the third film, taking over for JJ Abrams. Abrams is busy with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Still in space, but in a galaxy far, far away.

Announcing the title went to the director, who tweeted it out along with the first photo from the set. I must say, I love the Starfleet badge.

For those not up on IMDB, Lin is known for his work of the Fast and Furious franchise. He helped resurrect the franchise into the ‘heist / cars / we want to blow crap up’ series we have today.

The main cast is all back for the third movie with Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock and Zoe Saldana as Uhura.

Oh, and Scotty fans? Don’t worry, Simon Pegg is back as everyone’s favorite engineer. Pegg is also co-writing the film. Additional cast members include the rumor Idris Elba has signed on to be the film’s main villain.

If that rumor pans out, it will be awesome. If you want to see Idris Elba on the small screen, check out Luther. Fantastic show, and worth a watch on Netflix.

When can we expect Star Trek Beyond? July 8, 2016, is the slated release date in the United States.

Are you excited for the third film? I loved the first but was a bit let down by the second. Here’s hoping the third will return the film to the top.

We are going to have one hell of a six-month period for blockbuster movies. Star Wars for Christmas. Captain America: Civil War and then Star Trek Beyond. I’m an equal opportunity fan of sci-fi and comic book movies.

We get it Hollywood; you want us all broke. Just make them amazing…
