We love some Star Wars. As the official release date for Star Wars Battlefront approaches, EA looked back at the beta. More than 9.5 million people across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC took Star Wars Battlefront for a spin.
They put together an infographic with a variety of stats. It shows we love Star Wars Battlefront Heroes. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader entered the battlefield 11,842,954 times during the short beta.
The controls leave a lot to be desired, but you just can’t beat force choking a Rebel. Speaking of Force Chokes. We did that 1,379,319 times. I know I contributed at least 30 to that total.
Another interesting stat is 6 million people made it to Rank 5. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but it has to be an encouraging stat for EA when it comes to retaining players.
You would be surprised how many people don’t play or play just a small amount of their games. Hell, I’m guilty of that. I own more than 100 Steam games, and I haven’t even played about half of them. Damn those Steam sales…
Check out the infographic below for more Battlefront stats. I hate the 903 million times you used the Cycler Rifle…
Recent Star Wars Battlefront News
EA recently fleshed out more of the heroes and villains we will play as in Star Wars Battlefront. We got our hands on Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the beta. In the full game, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo and Leia Organa join the fray. Where the hell are Chewie and Lando?! C’mon DICE ole buddy don’t let me down.
Palpatine gets his trademark Force Lightning to take out Rebels and their heroes.
Leia’s main offensive ability is called Trooper Bane, a boosted blaster shot that takes out Stormtroopers in one shot. She also gets an Enhanced Squad Shield that shields against some Force abilities.
Han’s known for bulldozing into a battle and his abilities back it up. Rapid fire gets rid of overheating. Lucky Shot is a charge shot that works great on vehicles and enemy heroes.
There are more heroes including Boba Fett, but we don’t know about his abilities just yet.
DICE also recently talked about piloting Slave 1 and the Millennium Falcon in Fighter Squadron.
“One crucial thing to nail when designing the Hero Vehicles is to make players feel truly cool, powerful, and heroic when piloting them. This goes for both the visuals and feel. Playing Star Wars Battlefront, you should get the same feeling that you get when you see the Millennium Falcon swooping by and taking out TIE fighters in the movies,” said DICE Senior Designer Björn Sundell.
I had a blast during the Star Wars Battlefront beta. The gameplay is fairly simple and ‘arcade-y,’ but I like being able to sit down and play a few matches. Halo 5 and Black Ops 3 will scratch my competitive itch. Battlefront will be my go-to game for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of Star Wars.
There is a $50 season pass coming to Battlefront. It’ll be interesting to see how DICE approaches DLC. They did a fantastic job with Battlefield 4. And I see no reason that won’t continue with Battlefront. Just give us Star Wars fans more of what’s already there and we’ll be set. Oh, and space battles.
