We have the first details for the premium Star Wars Battlefront heroes coming this month. And you’re not going to like it. Guess who DICE decided to go with for the first two heroes in the Outer Rim DLC? Greedo and Nien Nunb.
‘Seriously?’ Yeah, I said that too when I first heard it. Greedo is an OK choice, but Nien Nunb? Nah. You would think DICE could pick more iconic Star Wars figures. Both of these guys are in the movie for what, a minute? Two? If that’s the route we’re going, just add all the bounty hunters Darth Vader hires to find the Millenium Falcon. Plus, if you’re going to pick a Rebel fighter pilot, go with Wedge.
I know what everyone is wondering – ‘where the f**k is Chewie and Lando?’ They’re coming. Probably. The Bespin DLC is the obvious landing spot for one of them.
Besides Greedo and Nien Nunb, DICE is also adding new locations, a new mode and new weapons.
It looks like the two maps are being added to existing planets. The description for the Outer Rim DLC reads, “Blast enemies in the smelting factory or along the industrial pipes and platforms of Sullust.”
“Or fight through Jabba’s throne room and sail barge garage on Tatooine.”
The two new weapons are the Relby V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster pistol. The V-10 rifle is described as a blaster rifle on Star Wars Wikia. And is carried by the bounty hunter Bossk.
Now why couldn’t we get him instead of Greedo? The DT-12 is the blaster pistol that Greedo couldn’t shoot worth a damn in A New Hope.
New Star Cards include the Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade and Adrenaline Stim.
Extraction is the new mode and features Rebel forces grabbing a “valuable shipment of resources” to escort back to their transport ship as the Empire tries to stop them.
As the launch of Outer Rim gets closer, DICE will talk much more about the new additions. I can’t wait to see what kind of abilities they cook up for Nien Nunb.
The Outer Rim DLC also brings a level cap increase to 60. Look for one of DICE’s trademark epic trailers sometime later this month.
