The Drone Movie is Real and Exactly What You Expect

Well, it was bound to happen. Because no one thinks to ask if something should be made, we now have The Drone. A ‘horror’ film involving an evil DJI Phantom that transforms itself into a more sinister Inspire. Yeah, we are officially scraping the bottom of the barrel.

The trailer is indeed something special kicking off with a host of stock footage about how technology helps us in our day-to-day lives. Cut to the evil DJI Phantom in a rocking chair. I swear. Check the trailer below:

First, we all know Phantoms can’t perform that well. We all know the obstacle avoidance would be screaming and it would probably just fly off randomly. The movie could serve a purpose for the authorities surrounding Gatwick International Airport.

The Drone features Alexandra Essoe and John Brotherton playing newlyweds being terrorized by the Phantom. Behind the camera is John Rubin, who worked on Zombeavers. I’ll let you go down the Google rabbit hole on that one. It’s slated to make its premiere on January 28th at the Slamdance Festival in Park City, Utah.

It’s a tough prediction, but I’m going out on a limb and saying The Drone won’t make it into theaters. Instead, we will enjoy it on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video one day.

The Phantom on a rocking chair. It seriously made my day.
