Tinder, the app that lets you talk to singles near you, is reportedly embracing one of Snapchat’s signature features.
According to TechCrunch, Tinder will introduce a feature that allows you to share photos that expire in 24 hours with old and new matches. This is sure to be a popular feature for the dating and hookup app.
Tinder is the latest to jump on the self-destructive photo bandwagon. Snapchat popularized the future and has been copied by several companies.
Besides Tinder, Apple also unveiled similar Snapchat-like features when it showed off iOS 8 earlier this week.
Tinder says sharing “Moments” with others will add another layer to finding relationships.
So, how will the feature work? Photos taken by you will be pushed out to all your matches. Those on the receiving end can choose to like it or ignore it.
Tinder wants you to get creative with these pictures too by adding captions, filters or drawing on them. I sense a Tumblr in the making.
Tinder is also looking at expanding the app from hookups to also include friendships. Tinder’s CEO teased another feature coming in a future release that will “solidify that Tinder is not just about dating.”
Tinder is huge. With more than 850 million swipes and 10 million matches per day, the dating app is looking to expand even further.
Check out the TechCrunch report to see more of the new photo feature including how editing and drawing on photos looks.
