Titanfall hit the Xbox One and PC earlier this month, but the Xbox 360 version was delayed. Today, another delay strikes the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall. Xbox 360 fans will have to wait until April 8th in the U.S. and April 11th in Europe to get their hands on Titanfall.
“I want to update everyone on Titanfall for Xbox 360 in development with Bluepoint Games,” said EA exec Patrick Soderlund. “I’ve been playing the game a lot, and it is fantastic.”
“But we see a few things that can be made even better, so we’re giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic Titanfall experience for Xbox 360 players. Titanfall for Xbox 360 will now be releasing on April 8 in North America, and beginning on April 11 in Europe. The game will feature the same 6v6 gameplay, maps, modes, weapons and Burn Cards as the Xbox One and PC versions of the game.”
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we get the last details right. See you on the Frontier.”
The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall has been an enigma. No footage, screens or video, have been released for the Xbox 360 version. The game isn’t exactly a graphical powerhouse, so the omission of footage for the title is curious. Granted, Titanfall has been marketed as an Xbox One title despite the additional platforms it will be hitting. So, I guess it’s not that surprising we haven’t seen footage.
Some gamers think it’s a conspiracy by Microsoft to sell more Xbox Ones. I don’t really buy that. Titanfall is an EA game. They have no reason to purposefully delay it. EA has its own investors to answer to. Titanfall is the biggest release for them this quarter. They’re not going to sabotage their own earnings so Microsoft can sell a few more Xbox Ones.
We’ll see how the Xbox 360 version fares when it hits store shelves in early April.
