The best part of Titanfall is getting more company. Today, Respawn revealed the final Titan roster for Titanfall 2. Six Titans (up from three in Titanfall 1) will stomp, blast, slice and fly across the battlefield. That’s right, Respawn went in and added a flying Titan. Just give me back the shield system from the first Titanfall and all is forgiven, Respawn.
Let’s meet the six Titans.
Damn marketing teams for putting together these trailers. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the multiplayer tech test, but trailers like these keep pulling me back in. I hope Respawn gives us a multiplayer modes trailer showing off Last Titan Standing and Attrition. Do that, and I’m leaning back towards a purchase.
The Titans of Titanfall 2
Alright, we played Ion and Torch turning the multiplayer tech test – so I won’t be covering those. Let’s take a look at the new Titans.
First up, Legion.
Need a weapon that spits out bullets at an absurd rate. Legion’s minigun is just what the doctor ordered. That up close execution at 0:15 is brutal.
We saw our first glimpse of Ronin during the reveal trailer. Who says you can’t bring a knife to a gunfight. Or in Ronin’s case, a huge ass sword.
Ronin can also equip a shotgun if you want to keep a little distance between you and your foes.
At 0:20, we see Ronin use a phase dash to get through Scorch’s Flame Core unscathed. Ronin reappears and hits Scorch with an execution.
Next up, Northstar. Rocket barrages will never get old. Northstar’s unique ability allows it to jump into the sky.
Tone also gets a missile barrage. But it’s missiles can track targets.
That’s not even the best part. Take a look at 0:54. The 40mm cannon is back!
All in all, it’s a fantastic trailer. Respawn appears to be doing a great job with Titan variety in Titanfall 2. Keep the info coming. I want to hear more about how the developers are taking the feedback from the multiplayer test and improving the final product.
The Titan trailer is selling me on that portion of the game. But that was never in doubt (outside of Titan shield issue). Hopefully, we see a trailer on the maps and see if the wide open spaces are toned down a bit in other maps.
Speaking of maps, one of the fan favorites from the first Titanfall is coming to Titanfall 2.
Angel City will be our first free DLC drop! If you pre-order you get 3 days early access to the map! More info to come! #Titanfall2
