My list of favorite HBO shows was already long before True Detective came out last year. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson propelled it to one of my favorite HBO shows ever.
Today, we get our first look at season 2 of True Detective. Check it out below.
I like what I see. Can it even stack up against the first season? My gut says no way. My brain says never bet against HBO.
Let’s take a look at the lead cast.
Colin Farrell plays Ray Velcoro, a dirty cop who is also in debt to a mobster.
Vince Vaughn is a criminal trying to go straight as Frank Semyon.
Rachel McAdams plays Ani Bezzerides, described as a “detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with the system she serves.”
Taylor Kitsch plays Paul Woodrugh, a motorcycle police officer who previously served in the military.
If you haven’t seen the first season of True Detective, change that. You are missing out on last year’s best new TV show.
I can’t wait for the second season. If it’s even half as good as the first season, it’s going to be great. But, good luck on topping last season. I don’t see how they can do it.
Prove me wrong HBO. Please.
True Detective comes back to HBO on June 21.
Which actor are you most excited to see in the second season of True Detective? Vince Vaughn is the actor I’m most curious about. This isn’t his usual type of role.
