Microsoft is getting into the streaming game on the same day as Titanfall drops. All you’ll need to share your gameplay with the masses is your Xbox One. It’ll work similar to how the PS4 version of Twitch works. You can interact with your chat and use the Kinect camera as a web camera.

The Xbox One Twitch app gets some new features including joining games with broadcasters, using voice commands to control the app and archive game clips.

Achievements make their way onto the Twitch app as well. Spectating other players will unlock these achievements.

Broadcasters can also set up notifications ahead of time to let their friends know when they plan on streaming. Twitch’s normal chat makes its way to the Xbox One. You’ll also have the ability to create private parties using voice chat outside of your current broadcast.

“It’s complete integration,” said Twitch CEO Emmett Shear to the AP.

“It’s exciting because we’ve never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters’ party is really cool, and it’s another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters.”

Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s VP of marketing and strategy for Xbox, had this to say about PS4’s Twitch app.

“That’s a very certain type of experience,” Mehdi said. “For us, we thought that was too limiting for what our fans would want. Our fans really want the full next-gen service, so that’s why we decided to take our time, do it right and have it come out in this fashion.”

PS4 Twitch users are limited to watching streams of people on the same system. The Xbox One Twitch App will not be limited to any one platform. The image below shows content from League of Legends and Day Z, both of which are PC games. You can even watch PS4 streams on your Xbox One. You’ll be able to check out some of the exclusives you’re missing out on, while playing exclusives of your own.
