On April 15, everyone in the U.S. will get their chance to buy Google Glass. You must be 18 years old and will have to fill in an online form in order to be eligible to buy the device. Oh, and it costs $1,500.
The $1,500 price tag should deter a lot of people from even considering Google Glass. Still, demand will probably be still heavy. Everyone loves a new gadget. And, the more rare it is, the more people want it.
The one day sale is also a sign Google is getting closer to an official release. Let’s hope that price tag comes down a bit before the official release. It may be the next cool gadget to have, but most people aren’t going to throw $1,500 down to get one.
The sale will help Google expand its Explorer program. Google describes Explorers as “the first to make, to tinker, to create, to shape, and to share through Glass.”
“We’re expanding little by little, and experimenting with different ways of bringing new Explorers into the program.”
So, if you’re interested in a look towards the future, head on over to the Google Glass page to sign up or be there on April 15 at 6am PDT to buy one. Google is even kind enough to throw a specific shade or frame. Next Tuesday’s sale will be limited. Even with the hefty price tag, the Google Glass sale isn’t expected to last long.
