Microsoft’s E3 press conference was solid. We saw Halo 5: Guardians, Forza 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider and more. But, a few games were missing. We didn’t see anything from Quantum Break, Scalebound and Crackdown.
That’s changing at August 4’s gamescom 2015 Xbox Briefing. Microsoft revealed their gamescom 2015 plans today and promise to show a lot more of these three games. Plus, the Xbox team will “share some exciting announcements.”
Let’s take a look the three games that will be at Microsoft’s gamescom briefing.
Did you love Alan Wake? The developers behind that title, Remedy Entertainment, are back with a new IP. Quantum Break is a cover-based third-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on time-manipulation powers.
It turns out, testing time travel isn’t a good idea. A 16-minute demo (video below) highlights some of the time-manipulation powers you will use throughout the game.
Alan Wake is a great game, and I have high hopes Remedy Entertainment will deliver with Quantum Break. The game is slated to launch in 2016. Look for a firm release date at Microsoft’s press conference.
Developed by Platinum Games. That’s enough for any action game fan to be excited. We don’t know a lot about Scalebound besides we will be fighting alongside a giant dragon.
Hideki Kamiya told Polygon, “Monsters, dragons, large action [sequences], that is exactly what our key theme is for this game.” He added, “This large, epic-scale of battle taking place right in front of your eyes [and] the impact and dynamism that it brings to the experience, that’s going to be core to the game.”
No release date has been announced yet for Scalebound.
Who knew collecting orbs could be so fun? The original developer of Crackdown, Dave Jones, is on the team bringing the open-world game to Xbox One.
Microsoft promises Crackdown “will deliver unrivaled verticality, cooperative mayhem, and destruction.” Oh, and orbs. Lots of orbs.
Xbox Booth and Fanfest
If you can make it to gamescom, Microsoft will have Halo: 5 Guardians, Forza Motorsport, Rise of the Tomb Raider and more at their booth.
Fanfest is coming to gamescom. Microsoft threw one for E3 and is bringing it to gamescom as well. Microsoft will announce more details via its blog soon.
Out of Quantum Break, Scalebound and Crackdown – which game are you most excited to play?
