As April wraps up, Microsoft and Sony are announcing their free titles in May for their respective online services.
Let’s take a look at the Xbox offerings.
Pool Nation Fx is the carryover from April. The new addition is CastleStorm Definitive Edition, which released last September.
CastleStorm Definitive Edition is described as “a super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction mashed with tower defense brawler!” There’s a solo campaign, online multiplayer, co-op modes and a custom castle creator.
Check out some short snippets of gameplay in the trailer below.
For Xbox 360 owners, you’ll be getting Mafia II for the first half of May and F1 2013 for the second half.
Here’s the Playstation lineup:
Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (PS4)
Ether One (PS4)
The Unfinished Swan (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)
Race the Sun (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)
Murasaki Baby (PS Vita)
“Ether One is a first person adventure that deals with the fragility of the human mind,” reads the official site’s description.
This trailer should sell you on at least trying the game.
I’m shocked we still haven’t seen Microsoft or Sony offer their first party launch titles yet. Games like Killzone Shadow Fall or Ryse: Son of Rome would be great to see as free offerings. Maybe next month.
What do you think of this month’s offerings? I’m going to be trying out Ether One.
