Destiny 2’s Road Ahead is Looking Slick

I had a blast with my time in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and Bungie is making it awfully tempting to put down all these new games and come back. A new ViDoc went live yesterday giving us an 8-minute look into what Destiny 2 will look like over the next nine months.

Bungie’s next three seasons (especially the annual pass content) are all about the diehards still playing every day. Here’s Evan Nikolich (design director) describing their approach. “It’s an endgame with a campaign, not a campaign with an endgame. And we are definitely adding to the endgame.”

Season of the Forge kicks off in December as we dive into the Black Armory, and it sounds fantastic. The Black Armory is a faction of skilled weapon crafters. But they also don’t trust us. Because of this, they’re shrouded in mystery. But something happens, and it gives us an excuse to start collecting more exotics. All I can say is bring it on.

Destiny 2 road ahead

The ViDoc lays out the next nine months for Destiny 2. The road to this point was bumpy, to put it mildly. But Destiny 2 is in a good place right now. We’ll see if Bungie can keep it there, and keep players engaged as it looks to cement itself even further as one of the most popular games out there.
