Red Dead Redemption 2’s PC Trailer Is Much More Than Just 60 FPS

The last game I double dipped on was GTA V. Even then; I waited for a steep sale on the PC side. But Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is something else. Watch the first PC trailer below.

The 60 frames per second jump out instantly, and it’s one hell of an upgrade from the Xbox One/PS4 versions. But Rockstar didn’t just give the frame rate a bump and call it a day.

The technical side of Red Dead Redemption 2 sees upgrades across the board. From further draw distances and shadows to new grass and fur textures. Improved reflections to higher-quality global illumination and ambient occlusion. I’m struck by how clean it all looks in today’s trailer. And it’s going to look stunning on my ultrawide monitor.

To those going in completely blind, you’re in for one hell of a ride. Me? I just want to hang out with Arthur and the gang again as I take in the gorgeous countryside.

Considering the graphics on display in today’s trailer, the recommended specs aren’t all that bad. An i7-4770k / Ryzen 5 1500X and a GTX 1060 / RX 480 are what Rockstar suggests. Hell, the biggest hurdle is the 150GB of hard drive space we’ll need. And a little extra for all the screenshots I’ll be taking.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC on November 5 via the Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games Store. Steam gets it a month later.
