Remember Below? It’s Coming Next Week

It’s 2013, and Microsoft is showing off a fantastic looking indie game during its E3 briefing. Fast-forward to the tail end of 2018 and we are finally about to get our hands on it. Capy Games dropped a short video last night teasing how we’ll “Explore the Depths” on December 14.

Below will available on Steam and Xbox One.

Alright, but what is Below about? Here’s how the developers describe it:

Test your adventurer mettle against The Isle’s procedural subterranean labyrinths. Explore a large, interconnected underworld crawling with cunning creatures, deadly traps, and a mysterious shadowy presence. Survive the perils of The Depths and unearth what lies below… or die trying. Below embraces exploration and discovery – illuminate the path ahead, find hidden passages and unravel the deepest mysteries hidden in the darkness your own way.

Ok, so we have procedural levels – but the rest of the description reads like any other. What about some concrete gameplay? I love Below’s trailer as much as the next person, but you don’t get a good feel for what you’ll be doing.

Lucky for us, Creative Director Kris Piotrowski sat down with Game Informer to show off more than 30 minutes of solid gameplay. We get a good look at combat, exploration, crafting, and more in the video. It’s a must-watch if you’re not sure exactly what Below is about.
