Xbox Game Pass Keeps on Rolling in January

The folks in charge of Xbox Game Pass crushed it in December. A lot of us figured we were due for a disappointing month in January, but this morning brings an announcement for the first batch of January games. While it doesn’t quite stack up side-by-side with December’s list, there are still some decent games to play.

Here are the Xbox Game Pass games for January (I’ll add in the couple that hit in late December in case you missed them):

Life is Strange Complete Season (December 20)

Life is Strange: Before the Storm (December 27)

Life is Strange 2: Part 1 (January 3)

Ark: Survival Evolved (January 3, also available on PC via the Windows 10 store)

Farming Simulator 17 (January 3)

Absolver (January 7)

Just Cause 3 (January 10)

Aftercharge (January 10)

Not too bad for folks who haven’t played a few of these games. And the good news is, these aren’t all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month.

Matt Percy, who helps with Xbox Game Pass marketing at Xbox, had this to say on Twitter

I like the new approach. Spread out the games a little bit so some don’t get lost in the shuffle. The Game Pass team used to dump them all on the first of the month unless it was launched on Game Pass. Now, the Game Pass team can generate a little extra excitement as Xbox fans wait to see what could be coming throughout each month.

I hope we see the backward-compatible team and Xbox Game Pass join forces more. I would be all over a 4K updated MechAssault.

What would you like to see the Xbox Game Pass folks add later this month?
